File Formats

While we can work with most modern graphics formats, we work quickest and most efficiently with high-resolution print-ready PDF files. See our Files Specifications page for information on creating PDF files for print.

PDF file

PDF file – 300dpi, If bleed, add .125” in both dimensions.

INDD

Exporting your Adobe InDesign project to a high-resolution PDF file is usually all we need. On the “Compression” tab, select “Do Not Downsample” in all three image types. If bleed is desired, (hopefully you’ve designed with .125” bleed) go to the “Marks and Bleeds” tab and check “Crop Marks” and “Use Document Bleed Settings”.

If we request your InDesign project, please “Package” the design, and then send us the resulting directory through our Send a File page. Then we will have access to links and fonts.

AI

Save your Adobe Illustrator file to .PDF with no down-sampling. On the “Compression” tab, select “Do Not Downsample” in all three image types. If bleed is desired, (hopefully you’ve designed with .125” bleed) go to the “Marks and Bleeds” tab and check “Trim Marks” and “Use Document Bleed Settings”.

DOCX

Before submitting artwork created in Microsoft Word, export your Word document to .PDF and review the resulting .PDF file for accuracy.

PUB

Before submitting artwork created in Microsoft Publisher or Adobe PageMaker (both have the .PUB extension) export your file to a high-resolution .PDF and review the resulting file for accuracy.

When sending artwork in formats other than high-resolution .PDF, some artwork charges may apply.
